some birds...a few stones...you know the one

so, turns out i had a pretty productive day today.
caught the train in to circular quay with elle, ran into creepy mullet man from woolworths at epping station though and he is just as creepy as elle proposed him to be, perhaps even more so. anyway, finally got to circular quay and hit up the mca. it was pretty much as pretentious as we estimated it to be but there was some cool stuff there nevertheless. my fave was this one by tom moore with these crazy creatures in ponds made out of glass, one of the best ones was a pink squid destroying a car, but i also liked the stack of cars...

after mca we dropped in to customs house library to say hi to dad and ask him where the nearest atm was, then off we wandered intending to somehow reach a place to purchase food or perhaps some clothing. we ended up exploring several asian clothing stores, which are really always the best ones, before finally making our way to pitt st and places that we vaguely recognised. i mean, for sydney siders, we really we quite hopeless. it did rain for a bit ruining all of mine and elle's dreams for a good hair day but we did manage to bump into one of the art and about exhibitions that are going on in the city at the moment. it was one of the laneways one and there were basically these giant curved walls made of yellow fabric that you walked between. i thought it was pretty cool.

we went to jb which elle and i really shouldn't be allowed to do by ourselves. i picked up a jamie t cd and the second season of flight of the conchords. next we headed down to town hall and i got to go to mooks which i was really happy about cause i was on the look out for this grey vest/cardigan hybrid type thing which i'd seen at chatswood a couple of months ago. i think that fact that i still wanted it after a couple of months made it worth the obliteration of my remaining birthday funds

caught the train home, stopped in at pablo's for some coffee generously purchased by elle, walked back to my place, watched some conchords before dropping elle home and heading off with jes to the hang at polly's. had a great time just hanging with friends eating really good pizza (we paid for our part with 101 10 cent coins, the extra 1 making up for the fact that we paid our $10 completely in shrapnel) and watching spicks and specks and hungry beast, which i'm really glad i finally got to see as it is a really good program- you should watch it.

which brings us up to date with me sitting here writing this. it makes me glad that i spent at least one day these holidays actually doing something and not just sleeping and watching dvds, although that is exactly what i intend to do tomorrow.

bye.
