i stand corrected.

so i'm following in elle's footsteps.

i was a bit disappointed when she declared she was abandoning her blog for a stint on tumblr and i believe the words "tumblr is stupid" were used, however the words she used were "actually, think you'd really like it"

so today when i stumbled upon tumblr i thought i'd check it out properly considering my presumptions earlier were completely and utterly unfounded, and lo and behold, elle was right, tumblr's pretty sweet

hence, http://tshirtsandtimemachines.tumblr.com/
check it out.

i'll try and keep my blog going but to be honest i'm pretty rubbish at it, so let the chips fall where they may i guess.

bye.

ten.

So i'm procrastinating from modern history study atm. Pol Pot is an idiot and the Khmer Rouge sucked, in case you were wondering.

further procrastination today has consisted of some christmas themed activities. i found these awesome 'magic' boxes on Life as Lou's blog (http://lifeaslou.blogsome.com/)

mine looks kinda like this cept i used christmas themed scrapbooking paper. really i just can't be bothered to go find my camera, take a picture of my own and upload it, especially since it was my first try and you get the idea from this pic anyway :)

even more procrastination activities fro this evening include glee and DOCTOR WHO!!! (though i'll be at church so i'll just have to tape them...)

it's a sad day really cause i'm pretty sure this is the last doctor who ep with david tennant. wait! i just checked on imdb. looks like david tennant will still be around for two more episodes after this. this matt smith guy has a hell of a reputation to live up to.

well cambodia waits for no man so i better get back to it. i apologise that this blog is quite similar to basically all my others in its scattered, boring, pointless nature. it's your own fault for following i guess.

all's fair in love, war and jenga

it seems that i've given up a tad on blogging recently. sorry. well, sorry if you care, which no one probably does, and that's fine with me.

i'm meant to be studying for my first lot of yr 12 assessments at the moment so i assume you can understand my logic at deciding this is the prime opportunity to rekindle my relationship with my dear blog here.

i must admit i have already been doing some pretty intense procrastinating already today, namely in the form of etsy where i found this absolutely-incredibly-marvelously-beautifully-splendidly-amazingly-awesome ring.

its made from watch parts and i'm absolutely in love with but of course they only ship to america! leaving me depressed and annoyed that had i been studying like i was meant i would've have never known about and would've saved myself some heartache. actually, do you know anyone in america?? wait, no. it's better to just get over it...

bye.

don't quote that

so i went on this supermegafoxyawesomehot camp on the weekend more commonly known as exo camp. it rocked to say the least.

the camp was at colloroy and it was for exo and connect which are the christian groups at hornsby and normanhurst. it was a really fun time. we had fish and chips at the beach on friday night, and played some hilarious games on friday night (rianna and her stolen coins :P) Saturday was jam packed and us year 11 girls were kinda tired after our late night chat on friday night but it was just an awesomely fun time spent learning about God and spending time in fellowship.

i've always gotta have pictures in these things but unfortunately rosie and i both forgot out cameras so here is a stolen picture of some fish and chips- but no calamari- similar to the way we didn't get calamari either (but i'm not bitter)

the talks were on 1 john and even though it was the same passage that i learnt about on the last camp i went to i think i understood a lot more of it second time round. The main points i learnt were that Jesus is our restorer, redeemer and rescuer and that our faith is about what's on the inside, not the outside, however what's on the inside should impact what's on the outside. The third talk focused on God's love for us and how he will always love us more than we can ever love him and how our love is just a reflection of his because we have his love within us.

"we love because he first loved us"

it sucked that i had to go home early on saturday night and i missed the last talk, but it did mean that i got to go to ellen's confirmation which was really great. while i was there it was also absolutely brilliant to spend some real quality time with my hornsby girls and getting to know them a whole lot better. they are some absolutely beautiful women and i thank God for putting people like them in my life.

i'm totally finding a way of getting to go next year.

bye.

what's it doing in the teapot??

elle and i sure can pick em. our tuesday arvo movies always rock.

today we saw 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus'. It's a tad strange but still totally rocks. It's the last movie Heath Ledger made and i think it's pretty different from anything else i've ever seen him in- it's no 10 things, that's for sure. Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell stepped in to play Heath's part when he died and they do it brilliantly. The way the movie is set makes it seamless as 'Tony' keeps changing appearances.

The really interesting thing about this movie is it's story line about the devil. I don't want to spoil the plot but the devil is around a lot and he happens to wear a bowler hat and look a lot like Tom Waits. It's really interesting to see the way that the devil is viewed in secular society, sure Tom Waits is really creepy but I think the true evil and power is really avoided. I find it sad to think that people aren't scared of Satan anymore, they just think he's a fairy tale- he's still actually a really big deal who possesses really big consequences and the way he's depicted in pop-culture isn't all that helpful sometimes.

But anyway it's still a really good movie, i really recommend it. Plus Anton is pretty good looking too.

book the third, chapter the fifth

these books make me smile to no end. i bought some more today.

my pride and prejudice is now joined oliver twist and alice's adventures in wonderland and through the looking glass.

i think anyone who has ever actually been in to a bookstore with me will understand how much i love these books. you see i have what you might even be able to define as ocd about books. i need them to match. this is mainly a problem because i read a lot of series of books plus my dad's a librarian so i usually buy books quite a while after i read them and this often results in re-publications with new covers and different sizes and this drives me mad! for instance, i'm never ever going to be able to find the 8th deltora quest book 'return to del' with the cover that matches the rest of the books that i already own. i mean who wants a book with a stupid holographic cover? not i! and i'm never going to be able to find the first septimus heap book in hardcover either.

but penguin you have solved my woes. you have given me classics that look pretty, match and contain some amazing tales- now i just have to be fast enough to buy them before they decide to change their covers again.
